Analytics Dashboard

The Analytics Dashboard shows you how your subscription business is performing, month by month. It lives under Analytics → Dashboard in the Merchant Portal — you can also open it directly. It's designed to answer the questions you ask yourself most often: how much revenue is coming in, how your subscriber base is growing, how well you're keeping customers, and which products are driving the business.

How to read the dashboard

At the top of the page you'll find the Month to analyze selector. The dashboard shows one calendar month at a time, and most charts plot the last 12 months so you can see trends alongside the headline numbers. The current month is labeled "In progress" — its numbers are partial and any trend lines for it appear dashed until the month closes.

To see a metric day by day, click View daily trend on it. The chart opens in a modal, and the Period selector there lets you plot the last 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days. Daily trends are available for most metrics in the Revenue, Subscribers, Subscriber Behavior, Renewal Schedules, and Operational Health sections.

info

Data refreshes daily. The Last updated note at the bottom of the page tells you when the latest snapshot was generated. If your shop sells in multiple currencies, totals are converted to your shop's base currency using reference exchange rates as of the last day of each period — the dashboard labels the affected totals so you know which figures are FX estimates. If conversion rates aren't available for a period, amounts are summed as reported instead, and the dashboard calls that out too.

What you'll find

Revenue

The headline section. You get total revenue for the month, split across overall, subscriptions, and regular sales, plus the number of orders and average order value for each. A growth indicator compares you to the previous month, and a 12-month line chart shows how subscription revenue stacks up against regular sales over time.

Use this section to see at a glance whether your subscription program is growing, and what share of your total revenue it represents.

Subscribers

Tracks the growth of your subscriber base: new subscriptions, cancellations, and net new for the month, with a bar chart comparing new signups to cancellations over the last 12 months.

Alongside these numbers, the Cancellation Insights panel surfaces patterns in how customers are churning:

  • Same-day cancellations (customers who cancel on the day they subscribe)
  • Cancellations before the first recurring order
  • Average contract days before cancellation
  • Average number of subscription orders before cancellation

If any of these numbers look unexpectedly high, they point to specific issues worth investigating — for example, a high same-day cancellation rate often signals a checkout or expectation mismatch.

Retention

Shows how well your subscriber base is sticking around. You'll see the active subscriptions count (snapshot on the last day of the month), the churn rate for the month, and how churn compares to the previous month. A line chart plots active subscriptions over the last 12 months.

Product Insights

Helps you see which products are powering your subscriptions. You get the total number of distinct products sold via subscription, your most-ordered product, and your top revenue product. A stacked bar chart visualizes units sold by product across the last 12 months for your top 5 products (with everything else grouped as "Others"), and a modal lets you view the full product list sorted by orders, revenue, or quantity.

What else you'll find

Further down the page, you'll find sections that dig deeper into specific aspects of your program:

  • Returning Customers — how much of your growth and revenue comes from customers who've bought from you before.
  • Subscriber Behavior — skip rate, skip count, and modification count, so you can see how actively subscribers are managing their own subscriptions.
  • One-Time Add-ons — attachment rate and revenue from one-time items added to subscription orders, plus a table of your top 5 add-on products.
  • Renewal Schedules — how many upcoming renewals are due to ship now vs. being rescheduled, and a breakdown of billing intervals across your active subscriptions.
  • Operational Health — payment failure rate and dunning recovery rate, so you can keep an eye on the operational side of running subscriptions.
tip

Hover the info icons next to any metric for a definition of exactly what it measures. The definitions matter — for example, "active subscriptions" is a snapshot at period end, and "churn rate" uses a specific formula that the tooltip spells out.

Exports

The Analytics → Exports tab sends you data files as CSV. Each export is emailed to the email address of the staff account you're signed in with.
