Generate a Client ID

The Customer API signs customers in with their Shopify customer account. For that, Zubs needs a Client ID from your store, which you create in Shopify's Headless app.

Before You Start​

You need:

  • Admin access to your Shopify store, with permission to install apps
  • Shopify's new customer accounts turned on for your store

Create the Client ID​

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin and go to Apps.
  2. Search the Shopify App Store for Headless and install the Headless app.
  3. Open the Headless app and select Create storefront.
  4. Next to Customer Account API, select Manage.
  5. Change the Client type to Public (mobile app) and save.
  6. Copy the Client ID.

Send It to Zubs​

Email the Client ID and your store's .myshopify.com domain to support@zubs.app. We connect it to your store and let you know when the Customer API is ready.

A Client ID belongs to one store. If you run several stores, create one in each.

Troubleshooting​

  • You can't install the app: confirm your account has permission to install apps, or ask the store owner to install it.
  • You can't find the Headless app: search the Shopify App Store for "Headless" again, or ask the store owner to install it.
  • Sign-in returns CLIENT_ID_NOT_CONFIGURED: we haven't connected the Client ID to your store yet. Check that you've sent it, or contact us.
