Customer Portal Overview
This page walks you through what your customers see and can do in the Zubs customer portal, so you know what to expect and can support them effectively.
Overview
The Zubs customer portal is a self-service interface that lets your subscribers manage their subscriptions, update payment methods, and control their delivery preferences. It lives inside the customer accounts that Shopify provides, so customers also manage general details like payment methods, addresses, and names from the same place.
The customer portal is always accessible at https://{YOUR_SHOPIFY_STORE_URL}/account. Zubs also provides quick links to common destinations inside the portal — such as the subscription management page and the upcoming cycles view — which you can copy directly from the Zubs settings.
If you want to offer the same controls on mobile, the Zubs Mobile App gives your customers a dedicated app experience for managing their subscriptions.
Portal Access
Customer Login
Customers log in using their email address. Once entered, a one-time password is sent to their email address which they are asked to enter.
Portal Navigation
Main Menu
The menu of the customer account is managed by you as the store owner. It is recommended to add a "Subscription management" navigation item. By default, the "Orders" tab is opened upon login with a list of all previously placed orders, as well as a note about the next upcoming subscription order.
Quick Links
Zubs provides direct links to common destinations within the portal — such as the subscription management page and the upcoming cycles view — that you can share with customers or embed in emails and marketing materials.
You can find all links ready to copy in the Customer Account Links card of the Zubs settings in your Shopify admin.
The upcoming cycles link is especially useful for proactive communication — for example, reminding customers about their next delivery.
Subscription Management
Viewing Subscriptions
Subscription list
A list of all currently active subscriptions with a few details about the subscription products and the next delivery. If you click on "Manage subscription", a subscription detail page is opened.
Subscription detail page
Displays all relevant information about the subscription, such as recurring products, one-time products, upcoming delivery date and address, product prices and more.
Subscription Actions
Modify Subscription
-
Change Frequency: Modify the delivery schedule of the subscription. Prepaid plans aren't offered here, and customers on a prepaid subscription don't see this option at all — their schedule is fixed for the deliveries they've already paid for.
-
Update Recurring Products: Change the items of the subscription (remove items or add new ones, change quantity). If a product was removed from your subscription plan after a customer subscribed to it, it stays in their subscription marked No longer available — they can still lower its quantity or remove it, but can't add it back. Customers on a prepaid subscription don't see this option at all — one payment has already covered several deliveries, so what those deliveries contain is fixed.
-
Skip Deliveries: Temporarily skip upcoming deliveries. A skipped order is shown as the period it covers rather than a single date, since skipping removes the date it would have been billed on. The upcoming-order card notes that an order is skipped and offers to unskip it.
-
"Ship Now": Trigger an immediate processing of the upcoming order. If it can't be brought forward, Zubs explains why — most often because the next order is skipped, in which case unskip it first and try again.
-
Reschedule: Change the date of processing for the upcoming order to another date in the future. Not shown for subscriptions anchored to a fixed day.
Quick Actions
-
View upcoming orders: Show planned upcoming orders with an easy option to skip or reschedule any of them. How far ahead this reaches is yours to set — either a number of orders or a period of time — under Upcoming Orders List. An order that a Sequential Flow will change — an upcoming price change, product swap, or free item — is marked with a Scheduled change badge and a short note explaining what changes, so customers know what to expect before it bills.
On a prepaid subscription this view is grouped by term instead, and lists every term it has regardless of the Upcoming Orders List setting — one payment covers many deliveries, so a limit measured against payment dates wouldn't match what this view shows: the deliveries the customer has already paid for come first, then each upcoming payment with the deliveries of that period listed under it. Those future dates are worked out from the plan's delivery frequency and carry an estimated badge — Shopify only creates real delivery records once a payment has gone through, so until then they're a projection. A payment that's been skipped shows no deliveries under it, and a paused subscription shows none at all. On a plan whose payment doesn't cover a whole number of deliveries (weekly deliveries billed monthly, say), Zubs lists the payments on their own rather than guess a count.
-
View all orders: Display a list of all orders of the customer
-
Cancel subscription: Cancel the subscription and optionally provide a reason. On a plan with Minimum cycles, the cancellation takes effect after the last required order
-
Change frequency: Change the interval of this subscription, effective immediately. Prepaid plans aren't listed, and the action is hidden when the subscription's products offer no other frequency to move to.
-
Update payment method: Change the payment method used for this subscription. Sends an email to the customer to update the used payment method.
