Generate Client ID

Zubs needs your Client ID to securely access your Shopify store via a mobile app. You'll generate this ID inside Shopify by installing the Headless app and creating a client.

Before you start​

You need:

  • Admin access to your Shopify store
  • Permission to install apps on the store

Step-by-step​

1. Open your Shopify Admin​

Log in to your Shopify Admin with an account that can install apps.

2. Install the Headless app​

  1. Go to Apps.
  2. Open the Shopify App Store.
  3. Search for Headless and install the Headless app.

3. Open the Headless app​

After installation, open the Headless app from Apps.

4. Generate a Client ID​

  1. Create a new Storefront by selecting Create storefront in the Headless app.
  2. Next to Customer Account API, select Manage.
  3. Change the Client type to Public (mobile app)
  4. Save the changes

5. Share the Client ID with Zubs​

Send the Client ID to your Zubs contact so we can connect your Mobile App to your store.

Troubleshooting​

  • Can't install the app: confirm your account has permission to install apps.
  • Can't find the Headless app: try searching the Shopify App Store again, or ask the store owner to install it.
